To All RCRL Members

To all RCRL members,

On behalf of the River City Racquet League Board, I would like to thank you all for your patience and flexibility over the last year. With all of the uncertainty, pauses, and cancellations it has certainly been a challenging year for everyone, and we tried our best to respond to the ever-changing Covid conditions as well as we could.

The last meeting of our fiscal year was held yesterday, and I wanted to update everyone on our plans for next season. As announced earlier in the year, the board voted to keep all returning teams in the same divisions as they played in last year. Please know that the Board took this decision very seriously and with much thoughtful deliberation made the decision with the best interest of the entire league in mind. We are looking forward to returning to a complete competitive tennis season in August with the resumption of division winners and awards. We are excited to resume refreshments after our matches since the social aspect of match play has been sorely missed.

The Board also voted to change our online management system from Top Dog to Tennis Point. It should be up and running within the next few weeks and directors will be trained on the new system to assist a smooth transition for registration in July. We think the new system will be much more user-friendly and easier for captains and players to navigate.

We are planning two events for next year – one in the early fall to welcome everyone back and a season-ending event with awards in the spring. Details will be out this summer about the fall event as the plans come into shape.

Lori Cook will be taking over as President on July 1st. Hannah Barnes will be Secretary/President-Elect with Cammie O’Connell as the new VP. RCRL will be in good shape in their hands!

Enjoy your summer and see you back on the courts this fall,

Laura Smith
RCRL President
